Living and working in Ibiza for many years, Gabriel Olivera has been very active professionally and a number of fine homes and villas bear his hallmark minimalist imprint.
In his drawings, large windows light up the inner space with the colors of the sea and campo.
Meticulous with details and adhering to ancient Vedic architectural principles, he skillfully blends his rigorous shapes into the bountiful colors of Ibizencan countryside. In 2008, he co-founded Ibiza B&O, an Architectural design and Real Estate company in Santa Eulalia, a long stretch from his native South american origins.
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, december 27th 1965, Gabriel Olivera starts his studies in the secular school Elbio Fernandez, at the early age of 3 until ending high school in1984. Entering the State University’s Architecture & Art faculty, he graduated in 1990. In this period he started as an autodidact in several subjects as air brushing, photography and computer design programs. Different workshops helped him in his development: drawing and painting with Juan Perdomo, sculpture with Ernesto Dellepiane, and landscape with Burle Marx.
Rapidly he showed his qualities in commercial areas and, to this date, he has fulfilled a large number of commercial projects: dance clubs, restaurants, malls and privates… He specialized in interior architecture, furniture design, illumination design, mural painting, sculpture and digital design.In his travels he has gathered important knowledge of his work: from India he studied and applied the learning of vastu vida, vedics writings directed to the architecture and design of spaces in harmony with the natural laws of the universe.
Ibiza is the perfect canvas for an inspired architect. Within its varied geography of wooded hills, green valleys and seaside coves, Gabriel Olivera designs modern styled structures in accordance with ancient Vedic principles and minimalistic tendencies.
